Recent Paintings
In the winter of 2019-2020, I was deeply affected by the raging fires that tore through Australia. I wanted to capture both the devastating loss but also the resilience of the animals, land, and humans affected. Little did I know at the time that "Loss and Hope" would be such a huge theme for the rest of the year. I raised $500 in a grassroots campaign with this painting and donated all of it to an Australian wildlife rescue organization that was at the frontlines of the fires. Now looking back, this same message was central to that whole year, with not only the pandemic but also the incredibly devastating fires that occurred later in the year in Northern California where I live.
