The Csodaszarvas, MFA Graduate Thesis Project
Throughout each scout rule performance, these actions will center around a stag horn that will go through a process of transmutation, from an external object to an internal one, mirroring the progression of the Csodaszarvas character in the opposing narrative.
This transmutation is an alchemical process based on the Alchemist’s Magnum Opus, or The Great Work, the process of turning the base matter of gold into the philosopher’s stone. The purification that takes place is a metaphor for the purification of the Self, a reconciliation of the Other where the veil of difference becomes blurred. The Magnum Opus is split into four parts as will my performances be divided into four groupings.
